Traditionally, the humita that we use as a filling for empanadillas, empanadas and cakes is made with cow's milk. At Naturalina we want to give you an alternative recipe for vegan humita, tested and tasted and also very celebrated. : D
This recipe is for 2 people, but if they are people who started a lot, maybe it is better to contemplate increasing the amounts.
Let's get to the point!
Ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 1/2 cup of wheat flour
- 1/3 cup of water (there are those who prepare it with soy milk as an alternative)
- 2 cans of corn
- nutmeg (a taste)
- salt (a taste)
- pepper (a taste)
- sunflower oil (enough to sauté 1 onion)
Preparation method:
- Cut the onion into small cubes
- In a frying pan, heat the oil and add the onion
- Pour the water (if you have a little soy milk, the better)
- When the onion is transparent add the flour until the preparation thickens
- Add the corn and stir integrating, over medium-low heat, for a few minutes
- Add the seasonings to taste and add a few more minutes
- Remove from the heat and wait for it to cool and solidify (* If it is very liquid, add a little more flour and vice versa, add a little water).
Empanadas, pies, empanadillas? Enjoy your vegan humita!
